Python Job: Data Engineer (m-f) - NGO Sector - 4 months

The programme aims to improve the accessibility and of usage of data within the organization.

• Primary responsibility for data engineer is to build and maintain data integration pipelines from external sources or transactional platforms (SAP, Salesforce, MS Azure, PeopleSoft, etc.) to enable Analytics initiatives. It includes typical tasks such as design & implement data ingestion as well as traditional extract, transform and load processes.
• Documentation of the data architecture and data pipelines should be established and maintained.

• Responsible to maintain data and analytics technical data infrastructure/ecosystem in collaboration with enterprise architect, data manager and service delivery manager. This assignment may require working with external supplier during implementation projects.

• The following list of products is not exhaustive and includes databases, data warehouse, cloud service providers, data lakes, integration platform, ETL, Data Catalogue, etc… Participate in the resolution of service desk tickets related to data and analytics infrastructure.
• Support data governance program by providing insight on current data landscape, including sharing of current data issues, room for improvements, and prioritization. Experience working in a client-facing/consulting environment is a plus.

The Successful Applicant

• Experience with working on data stack enabled by Cloud service providers is a MUST.
• Data Engineering skills: SQL, Axure Data Flow, Azure Data Services, Cloud Architecture, APIs (i.e., Workato), Azure, Python, Spark, and Databricks. Basic knowledge in Data Lake/Data Warehousing/ Big data tools, Apache Spark, RDBMS and NoSQL, Knowledge Graph.
• Strong Knowledge on SQL is required, any other database query language is a plus.
• Experience with Data Catalogue, Data Lake, Data Warehouse is required.
• Strong knowledge/experience of data analysis, and data preparation,
• Robust data modelling skills are required (Transactional and Analytical)
• Knowledge of ETL, iPaaS, API, and Data Virtualization is required.
• Knowledge on SAP S4/Hana and Salesforce is strongly recommended.
• Use of Excel, and Visio (or similar products) is recommended.
• Knowledge on reporting solutions (Tableau, Einstein, and SAC) is a plus.
• Experience in IT Operations is a plus (DBA, Infrastructure support, etc.…)
